the international christmas beer exchange
The International Christmas Beer Exchange™ (ICBE) began in 1986 as a simple holiday gift exchange among a group of six friends and beer aficionados. Over the years, the event has grown into a large-scale celebration of fine imported and micro-brewed domestic beers. Expanded to include invited guests starting in 1988, the ICBE routinely plays host to over a hundred dedicated beer enthusiasts.
Throughout the rich and hallowed history of the event there have been numerous memorable experiences, such as the infamous Beerlin Wall, the presentation of the coveted Beermeister for the Night award, and the introduction of the sort-of-official Beer Exchange band. Authorized ICBE merchandise has been sold and given away, including t-shirts, boxer shorts, coasters, and bottle openers. We've enjoyed dancing, live music, karaoke, and widespread madness.
The original six Beermeisters have grown to eight, with a next generation being prepped to carry on our traditions. We've introduced countless friends to better beer, and we've exchanged and shared wonderful brews from all over the world. The Beermeisters look forward to adding to the ICBE lore at this year's annual event.
